Stella McCartney Zipped Knee Trousers

Although Stella McCartney only launched her menswear line in 2016, she is already making waves in men’s fashion. The zipped knee trousers from her 2016 collection are a prime example of that.

Stella McCartney launched her menswear line in 2016, 15 years after she started her womenswear line in 2001.  Prior to launching her eponymous brand, she graduated from Central Saint Martins in London and completed an apprenticeship on Savile Row with Edward Sexton. The influence from her apprenticeship with Mr. Sexton can be clearly seen in her womenswear and menswear lines.

The zipped knee trousers are part of Stella McCartney’s first foray into men’s fashion from 2016. The trousers are sixty percent viscose and forty percent cotton, made in Italy, dry clean only, and come in black and beige.

The basic silhouette of the trousers is classic and timeless, but the designer has also updated the pants by making some fashionable tweaks. They are cut for a slouchy, loose fit and are trimmed with press-stud fastening cuffs. There are also zip-fastening pockets at the knees and it also features a slightly tapered, cropped leg. These added features would not have worked if the tailoring on the trousers was not impeccable. In terms of sizing, since the fit is loose, then I would recommend in taking one full size smaller.

The trousers are fashion forward, trendy, and more importantly comfortable. The comfort and quality of these trousers, however, means that one could possibly wear this piece long after the trend passes. Admittedly though, these trousers are not incredibly versatile. Due to the zippers and press studs it is nearly impossible to wear these trousers in any sort of formal event.

The full retail of the trousers is five hundred forty-six dollars. Despite the high price, the quality and style has resulted in incredibly high demand. The trousers can definitely elevate any outfit they are worn with. The trousers are almost entirely sold out in all online retailers. Only very obscure sizes remain available. If you have spare cash lying around and can find your size, however, I would definitely recommend purchasing these trousers.
